Samsung introduces new camera and 3D lens

Yes – 3D!!!  First Look: Samsung NX300 and 45mm 2D/3D Lens.

More from DPReview

Update: The 45 mm 3D lens uses a pair of LCD shutters that close off the left and right sides of the image, back and forth. This creates a small shift in the view. An animated example of how this works is in a previous post. What is done is that the camera captures the separate left and right images, in sequence, and in synchronization with the LCD shutters.

I expect many 3D camera announcements at the 2013 CES. I will be there and will do my best to post updates each evening.

2013 Consumer Electronics Show Almost Live Updates

I will be at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show and will post during the week on 3d.coldstreams.com (3D camera’s especially), mobile/tablets and other technology on coldstreams.com, and micro four thirds camera technology (and other camera technology) on personal-view.com.

I will be posting items, as I can, every evening from CES. Hopefully the Internet access will work better this year than last year where it ran at telephone modem speed.
