For both users of the HP Reverb G2 headset – it’s now an end of life, dead product

The HP Reverb G2 VR headset required Microsoft Windows Mixed Reality support.

As Microsoft’s WMR never got much market share, Microsoft announced that WMR would not be supported in any version of Windows after 23H2.

Apparently, there were just a couple of us who made the mistake of buying an HP VR headset – never again for me. I did not get my money’s worth out of it. While I had it for some time, it had been used little for various reasons, including some health issues and eye/vision issues. I used it yesterday with Flight Simulator and it worked great. But alas, I now need to buy a new VR headset once this old computer gets updated from Windows 11 23H2.

If one updates Windows to either the 24 or 25 versions, the Reverb G2 becomes a paperweight. There is now workaround or alternative to get it working – this is by design and it is effectively a dead product.
